Over the summer, a group of friends decided to make bracelets. They would share their amazing creations with each other. Once they realized how many they had, they decided to set up a stand to sell them in the neighbourhood. As they talked about these plans, the girls decided to donate whatever proceeds they earned to a charity. Together they chose the Chasing Hazel Foundation. Each girl had found memories of “Rocking their Socks” in March to help raise awareness for World Down Syndrome day and thought that this would be a great choice.
They created flyers to post around the neighbourhood the week before their sale. For three nights, the girls wore their crazy socks and set up their bracelet stand at Lake Como park. With the help of their community, family and friends, they raised $300.00.
